"I think I would prefer going to the Capitol Theater, closing my eyes, and getting blasted by 2/18/71 on a professional sound system."
Agreed! Saw Furthur and Phil & Friends here recently --- needless to say, looking forward to this event much more. I will peek occasionally at the great light show.
"Too bad that can't be arranged in Seattle."
How about the Paramount hosting a 7/21/72 party? (Or... insert your own favorite, famous venue/city/show here... Monte?!)

Actually I wouldn't mind not being city-specific. I would love to go the Paramount and listen to any monster show.

"How do I know if the nudity in this movie might offend my wife or g/f or son, etc?" many of you are asking.

Watch the China Cat Sunflower 8:38 demo clip on You Tube before you decide to go for the whole movie. It features all the key elements in this discussion thread: very good film restoration work, excellent sound, robust multi-camera angles, nudity shots of guys and gals, close-up shots of GD playing on stage, incredible audience scenes of adults dancing and little kids playing.

The HD copy of China Cat is on my computer. I play it in my Quick Time player. The medium-res copy of it is on my cheapo used iPhone (no data plan, no phone contract).

On Aug 1 I was walking around town in my GD t-shirt all day and evening. Many people liked my t-shirt and commented to me. I thanked them and then I reminded them that Aug 1 was Jerry's birthday. I played the China Cat video track from Veneta to lots of these young people. The very-exciting "that's-home-to-me" narrative I gave them was a sight to behold. Most of them had no idea that this was the real scene back in the day. "This is The Shit," I kept saying.

The girl-dancer at 4:15 (black hair, pink shorts, red tank top) is "my two cents" about the movie. She is an incredible dancer, GD style!! She puts me to shame! I played her dancing segment over and over and over and over... and I said, "I'd marry her for that [since I can't sing to, dance to, or play any music at all]."

Re: my previous comments about using MCs, more "taper history" with David Lemieux, and their potential for these types of small theater venues...

I would like to see Rhino GDP, David Lemieux, and Nicholas Meriwether discussing an endorsement of this - if and when it ever comes together. Bob Menke and Charlie Miller should host (MC) the first one with Lemieux involving tapers, imo. They are GD house-hold names. They are incommunicado and incognito most of the time. Priceless! I've told both of them this. I would be thrilled to help them out. I would love to see something like this showing in multiple theaters at once.
